What is the best way to record a remarriage to the same couple 15 years later with other marriage partners in between the two marriages and a child born during the second marriage?

I had written out a nice description for you, but as happens so frequently in this forum, before I finished it, for some strange reason the browser window unexpectedly did a refresh and it all disappeared. This forum has some really idiotic behavior sometimes.

Anyway, your marriage and divorce events are just all multiple events belonging to the Couple-Relationship between those two people. By editing the couple relationship item, you can add multiple marriage and divorce events if you need to.

An example of this is Nina F. Thurman LZBR-NQ9. Look at her Couple Relationship to William B. Goodwin LZBR-NH1 (i.e., in the Family Members portion of her details page, click on the little pencil and paper icon on the right side of the Couple Relationship box containing both of their names. As you can see, the marriage event showing in the couple relationship box is only ONE of FOUR total Couple Relationship events that occurred between them (i.e. 2 separate marriages and 2 separate divorces)

Although recording these facts as fairly straight forward, Please note that the FS website does a TERRIFIC job of HIDING those facts from anyone who might benefit from them. They are buried all the way down in the edit screen for the Couple Relationship entities. Only one will show up on the person’s time-line. Etc. Unless you specifically go looking for information about any multiple marriages or other couple relationship events between two persons, you will not easily be able to see it.

JeffWiseman, I have that happen to me all too often. If it's important or long, I tend to use Word to write it out, then copy and paste. Otherwise would break window throwing things.

You can show both marriage dates and put a comment in the second marriage is a remarriage. I have this in my tree. The other marriages to the spouses in-between would also be shown.

The child would be listed to that couple and the note would clarify why.

I hope this helps answer your question.

Yes, all too familiar. I've just started using this community occasionally and it is particularly bad here. Also, I would typically use a straight text file, but here you will lose all of your bold, italic, underscored, and overstrike markups. In the existing GetSatisfaction FamilySearch Feedback forum they use HTML markup for those things that easily copies as text only. I just haven't figured out the best way to do it here yet 😬

Also, for this community a simple refresh will blow it away. And refreshes seem to happen sometimes without warning here.
