@StephenPrince StephenPrince, do you have a link to the record? Or the year, so that we can locate the record online? The image is somewhat blurry, so it might be easier to make out the place name if we can view the original copy online.
@Brett ., thanks for tagging the post. The larger group this would fit under is the @Germany Genealogy Research group.

It's from Archion.de. The link:
https://www.archion.de/de/viewer/?no_cache=1&type=churchRegister&uid=169817
It's Bild 254.
Unfortunately, the original copy online also is somewhat blurry. Thank you in advance for trying to decipher the word.

I looked at this last week and couldn't find the right location; it definitely looks like it starts with an H and ends with "ig," but the middle is unclear. The closest possibility I've found is Hilsig (it might be spelled something like Halrig in the entry), which is about 70 km from Niedergründau. The place names have undergone vowel shifts and are sometimes abbreviated; for example, Niedergründau in various entries in this book is written Niederegrin. I'm also not seeing the same place in your entry listed in any other entries, which is an indication that it's somewhat farther away, so Hilsig is a possibility.
By the way, you can create a direct link to an image on Archion by clicking on the "share" icon (highlighted below), clicking on "Erstellen" in the box that pops up on the right side of the screen, and copying the link. That'll take anyone with an Archion subscription to the exact right page.

Thanks very much. I also thought it started with 'h' and ended in 'ig' and consisted of six letters. I'll search to see if I can find anything.
