Merging

thats probably because the ones you cant see - were created under different accounts (not yours) and are still marked as "living" on those accounts.
see: https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/Understanding-Private-Spaces
is your grandmother deceased or alive?

Hi -- They were all born 16 March 1868 and have the same parents. I just can't get them to show up in a merge.

Now the second one has changed to 31GN-JL5 Is the database assigning codes?

well a merge would pick one of the codes and use it - so from your perspective that could be perceived as a change.

for example this is a record that was merged.

the codes are assigned by the system

31GN-JL5 does not appear to be a valid ID
I get the impression you may have copied it wrong.

If I try to search for them by code, nothing comes up.
This is the search list that comes up.

these entries you are finding are in a totally separate database (and not Family Search Family Tree)
all separate entries in FS Family Tree are already merged,

when doing merges - you would only be merging what you can find in FamilySearch Family Tree
https://www.familysearch.org/tree/find/name
(and like I said - everything is already merged for that person)
The Pedigree Resource File - is a totally separate database - I would not concern myself with entries there.

Thanks Dennis. I was just trying to tie up loose ends. I have that family group covered but I thought others could benefit from knowing the connection.

Here is an explanation of the Pedigree Resource File - like I said - totally disjoint from the main FamilySearch Family Tree database

anything you want to add, share in ref to these families and "tying up loose ends" just do it in FamilySearch Family Tree
no reason to worry about Pedigree Resource File.
