I need help with the name of the wife in the US, Virginia—County Marriage Registers, 1853–1935 [MS9
[MS9H-S5K] census. Anyone have any ideas of what this female name might be?

After a bit of searching, I think it is Ida J Hamilton who was married to David J Wells and they are buried in Wise County. The z from Elizabeth above the name is interlocked with the I in Ida. I am going to share this with @Indexing Chat. There aren't a lot of people who can open these Virginia marriage batches, but, someone else might be able to give their opinion! I hope you will join our group of over 1500 indexers.

I totally lly agree with the “J. Hamilton” part but I also see “do.” Before the “J”, meaning “ditto” or “same as above”. I can’t see the entire document so it’s hard to try to figure out. Am I reading that wrong?

I hope that was helpful:) I normally wouldn’t notice that but I’ve been reading so many wills and probate records lately that I’m used to seeing that super annoying “do.” 🤣

I've indexed about 1900 of these and haven't seen a "do" yet in the name fields. You are wise to index this as ?d? though. The wildcards makes it very searchable.

Just an FYI my Virtual Mission is looking for more missionaries to help serve. Anyone here interested in an opportunity to Serve and give opportunity to piece families together? So far I can see all who have replied here would fit in Perfectly!
God is planning a great big Family reunion, and we're helping.
