I have discovered an Uncle already entered in FamilySearch but it shows he is living and I know that
It seems I can only add him by attaching the 3 individual records I have found to my family tree. I am very new to this site and it is a bit overwhelming.

Can you tell us what the PID of the person is? (the number next to their name)
If you can see the record - then chances are you can mark it as deceased.
Where is says "living" does it show an "edit" button?
If so you can use that edit button to mark them as deceased.
(this is a collaborative system - where no one "owns" a record - we can all make any updates as needed).

I'm a bit confused. If the person is shown as "living", only the the who input that record should be able to see it. That person can change the living status to deceased and combine it with other records who are the same person. I think only the the original person who input the information can change the status from living to deceased.

I had the opposite problem. I had two uncles (one of my mom's brother's and one of my dad's) who someone changed to deceased when they were still living. I called the FamilySearch Help line and was able to get it changed.

Thats why I asked for the PID - so we could actually look at it to see if it was globally viewable.

This is not an uncommon problem. Whoever input the individual as deceased could not have changed the original input from living. Someone probably input this entry as a separate entry. This has happened in my files and I have contacted the person who input the information to see if maybe they knew something I didn't know. Have found that sometimes input comes from the 1930 and 1940 census records and the inputter doesn't realize they are still living individuals. Guess that's why we use the 110 year old rule.
I made this mistake in my own family. I input my grandfather's sisters information and submitted her name for Temple Work. All relations assured me there were no living siblings. Lo and behold, she was living when I submitted her work. I'm sure she will forgive me, but I see how this happens.
We just need to be careful in following the 110 year old rule if we don't have a documented death date. I've learned my lesson!
Also the help line does get information like this changed in an expedient manner. Have used them several times to correct individuals who were shown as deceased and are living.

Thanks to everyone for their input. I see that I found him in a search that brought up historical records. His birth certificate is here. No PID next to his name. So I guess that's why I could see him and I have the option to attach that record if I go ahead and enter him into my family tree, and then I would get an ID? And then I could enter his death information?

any record anyone inputs into the FamilyTree system for a living person - can only be seen by that person on their account.
so the statement that someone else entered something and you saw it as "living" - - didnt make sense to us.
Historical Records vs Family Tree Records are two disjoint databases.
