Is it possible to find the land file reports for California Alien Land Ownership index cards?
On Ancestry.com. the index cards show only Guardian (my great-grandfather) and Estate Owner (American born grand-aunt) From Ancestry, the following details don't appear on my search of my ancestory:
"Land report files can be particularly interesting because they include details about the family’s business affairs and mention individuals and companies the family did business with. For each record in this collection, researchers have the option of viewing images for both the index card and the report file. When viewing the report file, the first page that appears will be the page containing the file number. This may be either the first or last page of the report file, so researchers will need to determine whether to browse forward or backward in order to view the rest of the file."

The original records are held in the California State Archives, however, the archive links back to Ancestry's digitized versions and index of them, so everything should be available through Ancestry. If you tell us the names you are looking at, perhaps someone here can take a look at the records and see if there is something missing or where the images of the reports might be.

Thank you Anne! I"ve attached a screen shot and the link to one of the records with my great grandfather, Kiichi Nishikawa, Trustee for the estate of Kikue Nishikawa, my US Born grand-aunt. When I look at photo of the index card, I can't find any links to the details of the record. Thanks in advance for any suggestions~ Noelle

Hello Anne,
I finally found out how to view the record by browsing the images behind and in front of the cover page. Thanks again for your help!
