Mark individuals to ignore.

I'm getting a lot of record matches and hints for people that I'm not interested in researching. Is there a way to mark those people so that I don't get the hints anymore?

Just ignore them. Someone who is interested will work on them.

when you say "hints" are you referring to "possible duplicates" indicators?

if so - just review them and there will be an option to mark them as "not a match"

after which they will no longer show.

after that - I dont think anyone will see them as a "possible match"

no reason for everyone to go through the same process.

and if you know they are not the same person - then it is good that you mark them as a non match - so that someone else doesn't come along later and merge them together.

No, in the "Recommended Tasks" list. For example, my fourth-great-grandfather's third wife.

That's what I have been doing, but they're cluttering up the list and keeping people that I do have an interest in from not showing. I can still go directly to the person cards and find things there, but it's a pain and rather frustrating.
