Provided that you are referring to "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch" ...
.
In the record [ie. "FamilySearch Person Identifier (PID)] for your Mother, go to the "Vitals" Section.
.
In the "Vitals" Section, under "Death", the 'Status' will be "Living".
.
Select the word "Enter" on the 'right-hand-side' of "Death.
.
Then, a "Pop-Up" (ie. "Modal") 'Window' of/headed "Edit Death" will appear.
.
"Change" the 'Status' from "Living" to "Deceased"; and, enter the 'Date' and 'Place' of "Death"; now, "Add" the "Details" ( Death Registration reference - eg. Registration Number and place) of the record in the 'Reason Statement"; then, "Save".
.
Of course, if there are any "Sources" relating to her "Death" (including: a Grave location; and/or, Obituary, if available) in 'FamilySearch' available to attach; then, do so.
.
Either, of two (x2) things will occur ...
.
Either, the record will change from "Living" to "Deceased".
.
Or, a 'Support' Case will be "Created", where 'FamilySearch" (Administration) will look to see it such a change is justified.
.
Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch':
.
How do I change a status from living to deceased in Family Tree?
.
I hope this helps.
