Adding sources to living individuals in my private space on familysearch family tree?

Short Answer: 'Yes', that can be done.

.

We can add "Sources" to "Living" individuals/persons in Our "Private Spaces" in "Family Tree" of .FamilySearch..

.

And, even when we do add "Sources" to "Living" individuals/persons in Our "Private Spaces", those "Living" individuals/persons REMAIN 'Private'.

.

It is when we add "Memories" to "Living" individuals/persons in Our "Private Spaces", that "sometimes" (if any 'Links' from those "Memories" are "Shared" with other Users/Patrons; then ...), those "Living" individuals/persons DO NOT always remain 'Private'.

.

Although, it is Saturday, it has been a busy morning and afternoon ...

Short Answer: May 2018.

.

'Yes', prior to then "Officially" we could NOT attach "Sources" to "Living" individuals/persons.

.

But ...

That said ...

.

Sometime before then, someone in the 'FamilySearch' ("GetSatisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum did suggest/offer a "Work Around" that would allow you to attach "Sources" to "Living" individuals/persons. I used that suggestion; and, it was successful; plus, did not 'break' the 'System' - I used that "Work Around" for some time until 'Mid' 2018.

Here is a response, from an "Official ('FamilySearch') FamilySearch", in a post, in the 'FamilySearch' ("GetSatisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum:
