Stillborn children

How do we handle stillborn children? At https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/3568/122 Johan Jenssen and Eli Johannesdatter had a stillborn girl recorded in 1882 on (I belive) August 15.

Do we enter these babies under the family group? Are the sealed to their parents?

Also could you please translate the last column of information (anmærkninger) on that line. Thank you.

    .

Short Answers: (1) 'Yes'; and, (2) 'No'.

    .

Do we enter these babies under the family group?

    .

'Yes', of course we do - they are still part of the Family.

    .

The only difference is that they were "Stillborn".

    .

Are the[y] sealed to their parents?

    .

'No', there is NO "Temple" Work (ie. "Ordinances") required for "Stillborn" Children - under most circumstances, as outlined below.

    .

    But

    That said ...

    .

    There is an important 'Note':

    .

    Quote:

    ------------------

Important:  Some countries also use the term "stillborn" to apply to children who die shortly after birth. If you include the country of birth, Family Tree can determine if sealing the child to the parents is appropriate.

    ------------------

    and,

    ------------------

Important: In some countries, children who died shortly after birth were listed in vital records as stillborn. Countries that have sometimes listed live births as stillborn include Austria, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Finland, France, German states (Baden, Bavaria, Germany, Hesse-Darmstadt, Prussia, Saxony, Thuringia, Württemberg), Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and Switzerland. Children listed as stillborn on records from these countries can be sealed to their parents.

    ------------------

    .

Here are some "Knowledge Articles" in "FamilySearch":

    .

How do I add stillborn or miscarried infants in Family Tree?

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/salesforce/viewArticle?urlname=I-need-to-enter-a-stillborn-child-or-correct-an-existing-record-for-a-child-that-was-stillborn-1381813358504&lang=en

    .

    Temple work for stillborn babies

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/salesforce/viewArticle?urlname=What-Ordinances-Are-Needed-for-Stillborn-Babies-and-Children-Who-Die-Young-1381812061120&lang=en

    .

And, with regard to that translation:

    .

    I just used 'Google' "Translate"

    .

    Danish = anmærkninger

    English = annotations

    .

    So ...

    That said ...

    .

IF, your Ancestor(s) are from Denmark (eg. in relation to that translation); then, it appears that Children listed as "Stillborn" on records from there, are one of the countries of which, "Stillborn" Children CAN be "Sealed to [their] Parents".

    .

    I hope this helps.

    .
