Merging a Read Only record
This person has two records, and the lesser quality one is locked as Read Only, and thus can't be merged away.

The most likely reason that "Merle JOHNSON" ( KL1C-4KH ) is a "Read-Only" record is that he is Married to the (Famous) Actress "Suzanne PLESHETTE" ( L4BT-C7D ).
.
Funny thing is that, neither, "Suzanne PLESHETTE" ( L4BT-C7D ); or, another Spouse / Husband of hers, the (Famous) Actor "Troy DONAHUE" ( LTPN-96N ) [ who you are trying to "Merge"/'Combine" with ], are NOT "Read-Only", quite odd.

You will need to submit a 'Support' case to 'FamilySearch'; and, request that that "Read-Only" status for "Merle JOHNSON" ( KL1C-4KH ), be "Removed".

By the way ...

We have been asked not to work on "Famous" People UNLESS we are "Related" to them.

So, I hope that you can show that you are "Related" to the aforementioned.
