Hi Paula. Consider joining Indexing Chat. That "Copy text from selected field into all following matching fields" icon (shortcut is Alt+Shift+D) only works within a single image and copies from a Given Field (e.g. Surname) to the same Field (e.g. Surname) in the next Entry (and succeeding Entries) in the same image.

What I think you need is the shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+B) that will <Blank> every Field in a Given Entry. Ctrl+B does that for a single Field in a given Entry. That will give you an Entry with all Fields filled with <Blank> and you can then enter the values for the Fields for which you have information.

The copy text functions only work for records that are all on the same image. Most marriage projects that I have seen only have one, sometimes two records per image, so the copy function won't be very useful for those. It's handy for things like census records where there are 50 records on an image.

Remember that you only have to <blank> the fields that are marked with an *. Other fields you can just skip past.
