My ancestor was born in Pennsylvania in 1872/1873, pre vital records. I do not know her religion for searching church records. What is the best way to find a birth document?

    @gailwesterlund1​  Were her parents born in Pennsylvania, or do you know if they immigrated to America prior to her birth? I ask because perhaps there are records of her parents in previous church records.

    For example, I have an ancestor who immigrated from Germany to Pennsylvania who were Lutheran. Their birth records are located at the parish of their birth in Germany. After they arrived in America, they helped to build a local church house parish and that family were members of that parish for generations after, so their descendant's birth records are located in that parish in Pennsylvania.
