Are you referring to, the "Web" version; or, the "Mobile" Application, of "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch"?
.
IF, your are referring to the "Web" version of "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch"; THEN, ...
.
What "Pedigree" (ie. 'Tree') view are you referring to:
- Landscape?
- Portrait?
- Fan Chart?
- Descendancy?
.
For all; but, the "Fan Chart" 'Pedigree" ( ie. 'Tree') view, "Portraits" ARE displayed/appear; provided, of course, they are "Checked"/"Ticked" in the "Options" for those 'Pedigree" (ie. 'Tree') views (ie. Landscape; Portrait; and, Descendancy).

ps: For me using 'Google' "Chrome" and "Windows 10", the "Portraits" ARE displayed/appear.

you have to scan them in and wait for them to be approved. Then they will appear in the tree.
