Is there a group for Latin Translation?

I am working on my Latin and I believe I would benefit from viewing other posts on Latin translations.

There is not. However, there is an Italy Genealogy Research group. Many other countries used Latin when recording Catholic church registers. You might search 'latin' in the search box at the top of the page to see if there are some other texts you could compare to.

There are also a number of helps listed on the Latin Genealogical Word List page on FamilySearch Wiki.

As always, if you feel there is a real need for a group of this sort, you can request a group for it.

    As an aside ...

    .

IF, you can read and understand the words; THEN, there is always the "Website" version of 'Google' "Translate" on-line (or, as a "Mobile" Application version), which includes translating "Latin" (and, it does work).

    .

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Brett,

Thanks. I do use Chrome and built in translate for websites. There are other Latin translators out there as well. I am more interested in the reading and getting the word correct versus getting the meaning of the word.

Some dictionaries allow wild cards - that helps https://www.online-latin-dictionary.com/latin-english-dictionary.php?parola=ae?us. I have 2 books specifically on Parish Latin that help as well. A trouble spot is abbreviations. Slowly building my problem-solving repertoire.

All tips and suggestions are welcome

    thanks
