I'm sure it was upsetting to find a profile showing your living relative as deceased. I'm sorry that happened to you.https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-change-the-status-from-deceased-to-living-in-family-tree
It's very easy to fix.
The instructions:
FamilySearch takes the privacy of the living very seriously. The last time I had to report a similar instance, the correction was made within the hour.0 -
Some of the discussions on this post were removed because they strayed from the original topic. I appreciate the thoughtful points raised about naming protocols and related practices — they were genuinely helpful, and I’ll keep those suggestions in mind for future conversations. Thank you for your understanding and for contributing in such a constructive way.

also is there any way I can give my family preference to doing my own family's names? The excuse I keep getting is "we love doing italian names!!" but…its my family…please help.
The FamilySearch tree is a shared, public tree that anyone can edit. People that are your family members are also others' family members. Sometimes I work on family that isn't mine, because I'm helping someone else out on a research puzzle. Or it might seem like they aren't my family, but I'm trying to build out a tree for a DNA match. Research on friends and neighbors ("FAN club") can help us discover other information. These are just a few of the reasons that many of us like to work on a shared tree.
If you want a private family tree that others can't make edits to so only you can work on it, FS' new "User Trees" might be a good option for you, or maybe getting some offline software like Reunion, MacFamily Tree, Family Tree Maker, RootsMagic, etc.
They serve different purposes and many people use both the shared tree and their own private trees in their research.
