Your community account? Or your FamilySearch account? Which email notices are you referring to?

I understand, what I don't know is what account do you want cancelled? Your FamilySearch account and your Community account (the account for this site with the groups) are linked but separate accounts. And people come to this community to ask for help with both. Both FamilySearch and this Community site send out notifications. So to know how to help you we need to understand which area you are having problems with.

Legacy User, I understand that you want to delete your account. However, I am not sure which account you are talking about. Since this is a community, anyone can ask questions and hope for answers. Whereas your FamilySearch account is connected to your Family Tree.
C Leathaby's comment are accurate about what the Family Tree is.
Since you got to the community through FamilySearch, the following information would assist you in cancelling or delete your FamilySearch account.4
Please go to the link below and look at the information, if you decide you want to delete your FamilySearch account, then follow the instructions contained in this information.

You missed my point entirely! How do I go about cancelling my account?

Hi!
Cancelling your account will not fix things. When a name is entered into FamilySearch, it's there forever (unless there's a merge, or it's deleted). It's best to learn the tools you'll need to fix.
FamilySearch works different than other family history softwares. The idea is that this is one family tree for all of human kind. So it's not your tree, or my tree, but OUR tree, with only one instance of every person in the world (in theory!). This means we can collaborate, correct, fix, change, add sources, etc.
If you are near a family history centre, you may be able to get some one on one help fixing the tree, and then you'll be able to go from there.
OR...
If you are wanting to share the ID of people in the tree you are wanting to correct, people here can better help you with specifics. There's lots of experienced users here to help. Me included!
We want you to have a good FamilySearch experience as it can be such a valuable way to work with other family to fill in the gaps and break down those brick walls. Let us know!

You want to cancel and open again an account to see if this fix the problem you are having. When you open your emails from FamilySearch it bring out error messages.
I think that before doing that you should do the following:
- Clear FamilySearch cookies
- Clear cookies from your browser
- Change your browser (google crome, mozilla firefox)
- Check your security wall, or cookies pop on your internet optioins.
- Send us a image of what the error message looks like.
- After this please let us know if the problem persist.
