I can't pull up records anymore with the same message,
Unable to load custodian link.
Is this a permanent change?

Can you share which records? Contracts with record holders change or new laws take effect changing access.

in my case, pretty much all records. Here is an example:

In addition to that, searches now fail or do not show all the results it did in the past.
I would understand if this was made subscription based, but there is not information about this at all.

@li716 When I put that film number into Images and try to open it, I get a message saying "Images are not available for this group yet. Try checking back later." Perhaps try again in a few weeks. www.familysearch.org/en/records/images/search-results?imageGroupNumbers=105245644&pageSize=100
@joseOriundo Unfortunately, the records you are trying to access are part of the restrictions from new laws in Peru. I see you have already commented on that thread:

As stated by everyone above there seems to be many issues. One being contractual agreements change with governments and churches over time. It also appears the digitization projects in Peru are still ongoing and many of the records are being prepared for FamilySearch for the future, A significant portion of FamilySearch's collection, including Peruvian records, is in microfilm format. None of the reasons above are absolutely for sure, so I plan to ask some of the experts and see if anyone knows an actual official answer.
Keep trying and see if you can get into the files over the next couple of weeks as one of the notices seems to imply.
Please respond back with what you find and we will continue to try and find the answers to your question and maybe assist in getting some of the files you need.

Try to obtain genealogical information indirectly through the Timeline View or the Genealogy Graph
How do I use it?

@li716 The Timeline in Family Tree uses the information from the person page to create a graph of his life in chronological order. Here is an article to help you learn how to use it:
How do I Use the timeline and map in Family Tree?

Does anyone or any other institution have a backup or export? I want a copy.

@SerraNola I believe the poster is asking if some other repository has the records that he/she cannot view on FS.

Same here. Do you know if there's another digital repository for those documents, especially death certificates (Peru Collection)?
