Search fields not behaving consistently with accented characters

Subject: Search fields not behaving consistently with accented characters
There is a bug on the site where searching for names that include accents behaves differently within different form types:
Troubleshooting:
1) It seems to work in Records search which is more permissive and clever about finding variations.A search for Lesko will return both Lesko and Leskó which is useful since transcription quality varies (and some contributors use Eastern or Western keyboards).
2) I go to Following or My Contributions seeking to find Pál Leskó
If I type Pal or Lesko nothing comes up for him. Only if I use the accented characters does it come up.
These two instances of the search field (a quick search inside Following & My Contributions) seem to seek an exact match which of course is not as useful and doesn’t behave as wonderfully intelligently as the Records Search does! :-) There is an OPTIONS filter for these quick searches but nothing related to turning off exact match (the way Record Search allows).
Expected Behavior:
It could return all results accented or unaccented — and perhaps place the closest match higher in the list (ie: if you searched without accent, those results could be first).
Hopefully this is an easy win for your development team to align these two parts of the site search.
PS: This is not a situation of user error — I’m very good with tech and more of a power user on this site working on hundreds of profiles and thousands of contributions. I emailed this directly to FS to share with the search team and they refuse to pass it along for whatever reason. So here this lies in the forum void… there is no section for reporting bugs even though the Suggest an Idea page refers to Ask a Question as the place to report bugs… makes no sense.
