Adding Another Option to "Other Relationships"

In some family relationship circumstances, the "Add Other Relationship" drop-down menu on the individual person page is severely limited and/or does not permit any other descriptive relationship options to be added other than the menu options below:

I recommend that an "OTHER" selection option be added to the drop-down menu that could offer a "free-form" user-supplied relationship descriptions to the individual record.

Other relationship that I could personally use for individuals in my family tree would be "Civil War Unit Members," "University Alumni," "School Classmate" "Sports Teammate," "Close Friend," "Business Partner," or "Engaged (but not married)," along with many other user-supplied relationships.

To get the engineers to consider this, you need to use the Suggest an Idea form. Keep a copy though; at present we have no visibility of Ideas post submission, though we are assured that they are reviewed by the right teams.

Thank you. I just completed the Suggest an Idea Form on the subject recommendation. The form did not offer an option to "keep a copy," so I hope to receive a review or confirmation of receipt in the near future. Thank you.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

Sadly we aren't getting any Suggest an Idea feedback at all at present, I should have been clearer that you needed to copy and paste before submitting, apologies.

Hopefully feedback will start flowing soon.
