How can I get the prompts for standardized places (and dates) to be more useably placed?

Most of the time, when I start entering information, or even try to do a search, and start typing the place name, the "standardized" options are being placed in a different part of the screen, and many times in a scrolling box that is barely visible at the bottom of the screen (see image attached). I usually use Google Chrome, but just now tried it in Safari (which I have not used for over a year now) and got the same experience.
