real address instead of section address

since today : i have a film with 1159 scans and want to see scan 342

clicking in grid on this scan returns the address 1 of 301 : which is only this section/item

is it not possible to have the address relative to the complete film and not of item as it used to be yesterday/before

because we keep/kept the complete address, and if you need to go in a second step to scan 355 you have to select the film nbr again to get the complete grid and select 355 and showing 13 of 301

best regards, Guy

I submitted very, very angry feedback on this last night. I may have used expletives. Uh, possibly a great many of them.

To make things clearer for those who haven't yet encountered this new problem, this is using the Catalog's new-and-continually-disimproved image viewer on a collection with waypoints, for example the Slovakia church books.

    image.png

When that "address" bar has waypoints, the image numbering ("Image 11 of 100" in my example) may not be for the entire film, and the viewer gives you no way to tell. It used to be that you could switch addresses by clicking the down arrow before the first waypoint and choosing the film number.

    image.png

You can still do that; the problem is, this now switches to the thumbnail view of the film. Notice that the numbering is now "Image 447 of 536", i.e., it has absolutely nothing in common with the waypointed version's numbering.

The newest problem (the one that got me so furious last night) is that I can no longer view the individual image with the film number address. Clicking the image from the thumbnail view takes me right back to the waypointed address that I was trying to get away from. In other words, I have to choose between knowing what's on the image and knowing where it is. I cannot have both at the same time.
