John Wheeler 1630-1694 LRGC-HCZ
There was a comment from "famillysearch" in the year 2023 indicating insufficient data confirming parents for John Wheeler 1630-1694 LRGC-HCZ.
Unfortunately when I clicked edit to add references including other peoples data I accidently deleted "familysearch" comments regarding insufficient data. How can the comment be resurrected and add new information posted in response to insufficient data?
See John Wheelers' page for other peoples references and input. It is a lot!
Another reference: "The Wheeler Family of Charles County Maryland" A History and Genealogy of John Wheeler, 1630-1693, Immigrant to Maryland in 1652, and some of his descendants" by Walter V. Ball.
Can we add sources from this information to family search without violating copyright?

You can always cite a book, whether via a link or just as a reference (in both cases I would include the page number(s) in the citation). If the book is not publicly linkable to by all users, be especially sure to include sufficient notes and/or tagging on the source description to let people know exactly what the source verifies and how.
IANAL but, as I understand it, copyright (where active) stops you from copying more than a small quote from the text (properly identified [edit-this is fair use as Julia mentions below]).
(All of this obviously assumes that you are happy to defend the book as an accurate primary or secondary source.)

You can restore (or view) the previous Note from John Wheeler's Change Log — but the contribution was never credited to "FamilySearch". The username is in the format FamilyNNN, and I think the Note was added 19 May 2023. You'll need to scroll down to it in the log, as (for some inexplicable reason) Notes are not among the available filters.
Citing a reference never violates copyright, and even transcriptions of short bits generally qualify as "fair use".
