Name error in 1871 uk census record
IIf anyone can edit a record I have found a transcription error on the 1871 census here
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V5R9-JBX?treeref=L51G-Q65&cid=fs_copy
"England and Wales, Census, 1871", , FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V5R9-JB6 : Sat Feb 24 03:32:28 UTC 2024), Entry for Joseph Mowe and Ruth Mowe, 1871.
Name MOWE should be ROWE
Document attached to 5 relevant ROWE family members.

The 1871 census images are not resident on the FamilySearch servers; they are on the FindMyPast and National Archives servers. Only indexes for those record images resident on FamilySearch can be edited on FamilySearch.

FYI - as some of you may realise from clicking on the View Original Document link, and then on the transcription, the FMP index has already been corrected to "Rowe" - whether it will get through to FS or when, I don't know.

As illustrated in a previous post, the England (and Wales) collection list shows when the latest updates were received by FamilySearch from Find My Past. However, what is not clear is whether this reflects the records as they stood on the FMP website as at that date. It has already been proved that the numbers do not necessarily match - e.g., FMP may have more than the 22,933,411 records claimed to be in the 1871 FS version. Whether the individual records are an exact match, at the time they are passed across (FMP to FS), is a further issue to establish.
