I've just realized 😮 there is information beyond the edge of the form. The info includes info on where and when the form was scanned.

People are using batch numbers as Record Numbers. Is this correct? Should I be doing this?

If you are doing the New England projects, the numbers on the side are not indexed. This goes back to indexers not looking at the examples in the Project Instructions.

If you are doing any other Naturalization project (and this is across the board, not just Pennsylvania), the record number is the number that is on, or closest to, the number line.
