Chat function

I am trying to send a message to a person with no success today. I get to the screen where you can enter a message but it will not take any input. Then after a period of time on exit I get Error code: RESULT_CODE_HUNG

What kind of a notice will I get if the user's account is not chat enabled or if the user has been marked deceased?

I've found the chat function sluggish today - taking much longer than usual to display a message. But, I haven't seen any error messages.

Just posted at the other thread on the issue - see

Hope this can get fixed today, as anxious to read my latest message!

Not only is the page freezing after attempting to use Chat, the other pages I have open (in separate tabs) are now freezing, too, necessitating closing the browser and signing back into FamilySearch.

Update - Immediately after I wrote the above, I signed into Family Tree, went to Chat and the message I'd last received was open for me to read and the cursor could be placed in the Reply box. Hopefully issue sorted, although maybe not permanently.

Have come back to Family Tree after a few hours break. Ready to send a reply to a message but back to getting "Oops.." and "Aw.." pages.

Perhaps a moderator would kindly confirm the status of any "ticket" raised to the engineers as we really want to know where we stand here.

Getting same problem; unable to access Chat for last 12 or so hours, I can click on a name but it 'thinks' for a moment then displays the message 'Oops, something went wrong. Please refresh the page' which crashes the entire page it opened over.

Thanks to everyone for reporting this problem. We are looking into it.
