Mother and father died. After the death of the parents guardianship of surviving son (John) was given by court order to sister (Mary) of the deceased father. The next census after death of parents and assignment of guardianship shows son (John) as a nephew of the sister's (Mary's) family group. Also present is a teenage sister (Jan) of Mary.
When I try to attach the census record, I am unable to "complete unfinished matches" because the John and Jan are not directly linked (subordinate) to Mary in the family tree structure.

Click on "Find Your Family" near the top, and enter the PID in the resulting search box.

use the Other Relationships feature to document the guardianship relationships

Other relationships appear in the source linker family members attachment options on the right-side of the page
