When there are 35 or so records on the page, do you use the list number on top of page,

or the pet. # by the name. Some put in no number, others use the List No for all the names,

and some type in the petition number by each name. It is confusing, as there is so much

disagreement.

The only things that are indexed on a list are the name; if there is a name change, index that name, and the date that is at the bottom of the list. Every other field will be marked <BLANK>. There is an example of how to index this in Project Instructions/What To Index/How to Index a Naturalization Petitions Granted and Name Change Record.
