Deleting full photo tag
Why are photos I add in Memories already tagged with the tag being the whole photo? I like to tage the person or the name if it' a document. How can I delete the original full photo/document tag because I have tried with no success.

That's done by default when you initially upload the item to a person's profile.
Then you simply need to resize the tag so it only is just big enough to identify that one person and not cover other people you want to tag.
Don't delete that tag - just resize it.
there is a section on this page - concerning how to resize a tag - based on dragging the blue circle
note this only works for items you have tagged not items that were uploaded / tagged by others.
https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-edit-or-delete-person-tags-in-memoriesalso if you select the tag - there should be a white pop up box that allows you to delete the tag if that really is the intent. But this will only show up if you were the one to upload the item.
When you first upload an item to a profile - your next first step should be to RESIZE the tag that covers the entire image so that it covers just the right area for the person you first uploaded it to.

yes - you avoid this all together if you upload to the gallery - OR even better yet - upload to a specific ALBUM/FOLDER in your gallery.
and along those same line - you should know that you can upload a whole batch phots in one upload to an album and then work on them one by one from the album.
you dont have to waste time uploading one item at a time.1

BTW, if you upload the photo into your Gallery using the MEMORIES (main menu), it won't tag the entire photo as default, as it does when you upload the photo via the Memories menu from the Individual Profile.

Thanks! I think I'll try & set up an album to upload photos to. What was weird was, I deleted a photo, it said FamilySearch wouldn't delete it for 120 days, then I decided I did want to keep it on there & looked in my Gallery & I couldn't find it. I need to read something on how to operate My Gallery. lol! Thanks again!

when you delete a photo it is removed from your gallery and placed in your "Recently Deleted" folder
from which you can restore back to you gallery for a period of 120 days.
It is very good to understand how albums work - and this is one good approach.
but just keep in mind - there is nothing wrong with uploading items to a profile
just that you need to remember to resize the initial primary tag that is created when you first upload - so the tag doesnt cover the entire image and do that right away before you start adding more tags.0 -
