QC is where your worked is checked by the software. When you are done with the batch (not the first image), click on Quality Check at the bottom of the last entry on your final image. You'll see Do you see any more information on this image to index? above the choices or you can click on the airplane icon on the toolbar.

A pop-up will appear and ask Quality check must be completed prior to submitting this batch. You either can run the check, or if you remembered to say, put the birthplace in, you can cancel and go back to enter the information that you missed, QC goes through everything that has been keyed (indexed). If there are no errors, another pop-up will appear saying No issues found. Would you like to submit your work now? You'll have the choice either to submit or to cancel if you forgot something.

If there are errors—forgetting to index a field—the pop-up will say (Error on X field)*. This field is a required field with the number of issues remaining. It will take you through the errors so you can correct them and when you are finished, it will ask you to submit.

Keep in mind a few things:

—Every field is required. If the field, say Sex, is not on the document, you will mark it blank by either Ctrl+B or clicking the fourth icon from the left (directly to the right of the airplane) on the toolbar. Do not type the word "blank" in the field as this will be marked an error when you batch is reviewed.

—Most projects today come with multiple entries per image. If you have blank, unused entries, click the trash can icon on the toolbar. When that pop-up appears, choose All blank entries and click Delete. Otherwise it will say that you have errors on Entry X.

—Once your batch has been submitted, it cannot be retrieved to correct errors. The errors will be fixed when your batch is reviewed.

*Error on X field is replaced by the field that contains the error.
