Fairbanks Alaska NOT open
The Fairbanks Alaska Family history center is not open, and hasn't been open in a few years. Online says they are still open. I went there to confirm (again) that it is closed before I asked in this forum. There is no sign on the door, and no one answers the phone. The nearest Family History Center is over 300 miles away.
I heard a rumor that all the books inside were sent to Salt Lake City.
I am interested in looking at a file shown on the website, but it says I need to be at the library to view it. Are there any alternatives for me, aside from traveling?
I also thought my local city library would have access if I logged into their wifi, but it did not work.
The file is Film # 008799397 in case that is needed to answer the question.

I am not connected with FamilySearch and am not a LDS Church member.
The message I get for Film # 008799397 is
To view these images do one of the following:
- Access the site at a FamilySearch Center.
- Access the site at a FamilySearch affiliate library.
Perhaps you could try and persuade your local City library to apply to become a FamilySearch Affiliate Library. However, it appears this would have to happen in the future, as no new applications are being processed currently.
Perhaps someone who visits a FamilySearch Center or Affiliate Library may be able to help.
