What does (c: Rosa) mean?

When I see Herman H (Alma E), I know to index Alma E as Herman's spouse. But I don't know what the (c: before Rosa) means. I'm seeing this quite often in this record. Any ideas?

Yes - standard for the time to indicate race in that way.

If you go to the Project Instructions (the last icon on the menu at the top of the page), under What to Remember about this Project, there is a list of abbreviations. Reading the entire Project Instructions will most likely answer many questions.
