I am writing because there must be something wrong with a data set that has been indexed for Greenmount Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The actual images are not viewable, so I have not seen the images.  But for almost every last name that you search for in that cemetery, there is been a correction that someone made to change the place the cemetery is located in to other Greenmount Cemetery’s located in the United States.  There are some still left as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but most are changed to a Greenmount Cemetery in Ohio.  My relative, Bessie May (nee Reiff) Thompson who is definitely buried in Philadelphia is recorded at a Greenmount Cemetery in Colorado.

The citation for her burial at Greenmount Cemetery is this:
“Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Greenmount Cemetery Records, 1880-1966”, , FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch,org/ark:/61903/1:1:HTF4-48MM : Thu Mar 07 18:19:20 UTC 2024), Entry for Bessie Thompson, 29 Dec 1933.

Bessie Thompson

Death • Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Greenmount Cemetery Records, 1880-1966

The index reads as follows:
Name - Bessie Thompson

Age 41 years

Birth Year Estimated - 1892

Event Type - Burial

Event Date - 29 December 1933

Event Place - Greenmount Cemetery, Durango, La Plata, Colorado, United States                       Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United, States

Greenmount Cemetery Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Event Place (Original) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

Cemetery - GreenmountCemetery.Co

This database needs to be corrected somehow. She is not the only one who has had the event place changed,

Just letting you know about it,

There is an unfortunate algorithm changing locations. You'll find many many threads on the subject. The records were indexed correctly, but the automated process changed the information afterward.

@Ashlee C. Another report for your list, please.
