Add personal index of town/city to Family Search
Several cities/towns don't have any index work done, but the records are available on Family Search. My wife has indexed several of these cities/towns for researching her ancestors. Because indexing these towns/cities is not available on Family Search, she has used Microsoft Excel. Seems like it would be a good idea to allow her to import these indexes to Family Search for others to use. If you would like her indexed data for Family Search or create a way to add these indexes, please let me know. 🙂

Indexing on FamilySearch is subject to the contracts between FamilySearch and the record holder.
Some record holders only allow the images to be preserved to protect the records but do not allow the records to be indexed.

If there is a national or more local genealogy society associated with the location, you could try inquiring with them about sharing indexing work. As Áine said, FS is constrained by contracts (and by the sheer size of its holdings) against sharing any individually-contributed indexes. (The answer to "how can we suggest an indexing project?" is "we can't".)
