AI Based Search Results
Right now, under Search there is an option for Google. When you click this, it auto generates a search with basic vital information.
I have been using Bing’s Copilot with relatively good success. I ask questions like, is this person who was married to this person still alive? Or What can you find on this person who lived around this time and in this place? Or can you help me understand if this name makes sense, it is from this time period and in this place. Stuff like that.
From this I have found records that I could not find in other places and the ability to talk with the computer and tell it what my need was, and problem was works.
But there is this. Sometimes it does and sometimes not depending on phrasing and such.
I think it would be good to add Copilot, (or any other internet AI search or develop our own) to the search field. And bases on testing, prompt the AI with the best use phrases and information to get the best results.

There is already a labs project for FamilySearch AI-assisted search: https://www.familysearch.org/en/labs/

Personally, I detest AI-"assisted" search. Plain old Google search now unfortunately adds a lot of it, unasked, resulting in me yelling at my computer. No, when I put it in quotes, I really, really, really meant that THAT's what I wanted to search for. Really. I should not need to also add a "minus otherthing" for the AI to stop suggesting it.

One of the for-pay genealogy sites also now as AI-assisted "research." I worry that the unaware will take the less-than-accurate results as gospel.
