How to remove all previously indexed data

I have a batch where someone messed up everything. Is there a way to clear it and start over?

If you're indexing a batch that you got that's been indexed before (possibly a reviewer sent it back for reindexing and kept the indexed data, or the time expired before the indexer submitted it), you can delete the data in the fields and start over. That's what I do when I get one that looks like a reviewer sent it back for reindexing. If the images have multiple records that you want to delete and start over on, delete all the fields in the first record and copy down in each one. That will clear everything.

The only way that I've known to clear out fields is only in reviewing by going to Batch/Reindex Batch/Delete the indexed data. That will throw it back on the pile for someone to pick it up. If you believe it to be a maliciously indexed batch—nonsense like "Rnajklqw" in the fields—post the batch number here (but do not fix the batch) and tag @Ashlee C. so she can take a look at it.

Thank you both for your comments. I like just delete the remaining entries and start over.

A couple of other options to delete everything would be:

    • If you are absolutely sure that all of the data is incorrect, the easiest way to delete all of it would be when you first open the batch, mark the images as "No extractable data", then click "Next image", then in the popup box click "Delete entries for image", and that will completely wipe all of the entered data. You cannot retrieve the data if you do this, so be careful with this operation; or
    • Delete each record individually by using the trash can icon. If you have more than 10 records, this would probably not be the way to go if every record is entered incorrectly. Again, you cannot retrieve the data if you delete one record at a time.

I'm kind of curious what you are working on. I can't imagine an indexer getting everything wrong, but i suppose it's possible. Anyway, I hope this helps either now or in the future.

    Have a nice weekend!
