Why does the Family Search App Tasks Rapidly Repopulate to 300 tasks before I complete the list??

Working to complete the tasks on the Family Search App, I get in down from 300 to12 -45 and I come back and it has rebooted to 300 again. I would appreciate a setting to hold the original group of tasks or it not to reboot for a least a week so I can complete the difficult people that have issues.

It is my impression that the task list is not meant to ever be completed. If you get it down below a certain threshold, it runs the search again with wider parameters.

Edited to add: if you're looking for a more finite set of tasks, you could try one of the chart views with Research Helps turned on. I use the fan chart, because the entire wedge turns blue when there's a hint. If I finish those, I sometimes move on to a descendancy view, to work on the siblings of my ancestors.

It's the same process on other genealogy websites. The more you massage a family, the more hints you will be shown.
