"Floating Trees" on FamilySearch
Is it possible to create a "floating tree" on FamilySearch similar to on Ancestry? In my recent research I have found records that could possibly extend a line, but no record that definitively proves the main person is "my" main person. Hopefully, further research will provide a connecting record. Can I build this "floating tree" on FamilySearch and connect it later?

Yes, or someone else may connect it for you, since the FSFT is fully open-edit and collaborative. Once you add a few profiles, you may receive suggestions/hints of possible duplicates.
You can start that unconnected branch from your "Recents" tab - at the bottom, you'll see "Add Unconnected Person." https://www.familysearch.org/tree/recents
