Finding a grave
My wife and I are serving a Humanitarian Mission in Slovakia. We visited a Red Cross office in Košice, Slovakia and one of the workers there asked if we could help him find a grave of an individual who died in New York City. At the time of his death he was living in New Jersey. I've searched everywhere to try and locate his grave, however I am new to this and was wondering if anyone could suggest a place for us to search further. The Red Cross worker was aware of the Church and its worldwide efforts in Family History. This young man from the Red Cross was thrilled when we just randomly showed up at his office. He has been searching for the grave for some time without any success. I told him I would reach out to someone in Family Search to see if someone could give us any other suggestions of how to go about locating a grave.
The gentleman we are searching for is: Marian B. Karas, born: September 19, 1946, died in December 1996. He was originally from Slovakia, however immigrated to America. Can someone please offer some suggestions?

On a quick search, I see many newspaper articles about the tragic death of Marian Karas on 8 December 1996. I don't yet see a notice of funeral or burial, but I'll dig a little deeper.
Of course, his death certificate should contain the place of burial or cremation, but obtaining a certificate so recent in New York City is not easy.
Edit to add: I now have the name of the funeral home where his wake was held. If I don't find burial information in a later article, the funeral home should be able to supply the details.
