US, Alaska—Church Records, 1816–1970[MQGK-XKJ] Out of curiosity and in an effort to index accurately, I checked the origin of the name Lummask (indexing entry #4 for child Paul North) and found it is a Russian surname. My question is - since I don't know much about names found in Alaskan records - do I still index parents' names as given names? See also entry #7 for child Margaret Papp where parents' both have given names plus surnames. Thanks😎

I'd put them in the Given Name field and leave the Surname blank. Remember this from the Name Field Help:
If you cannot determine if a name is a given name or a surname, type it in the Given Names field.
As for Papp, I would index both names, even if there's the comment rule. You're right, it would be beneficial to both families.0
