Is there a way to identify a person who is "following" an indiviual profile in Family Tree?
I would like to know how to determine who is "Following" an individual in the Family Tree.
The KA gives me the answer to "who else is following an individual besides me" but I am interested in knowing who is following an individual that I do not have in my current following list. Perhaps this capability does not exist.
thanks

There is no way to find out who is following a person unless you are also following that person. That's why the KA mentions the "who else is following an individual besides me" option.
I suppose (but this is just my conjecture) that perhaps that decision was made, thinking that a user should at least have some shared interest in that person before they get access to see who else is following that person. Of course that's not providing any particular security, but at least the list of followers is not publicly available for everyone to see easily.

Thanks, Alan,
Kinda what I suspected. When making a change, the system gives a message "people who are following will be notified". It would be nice to know who they are so contact could be made with that patron, assuming a common interest. For what it's worth. thanks, again.

I would agree that (unless you have reached the 4,000 limit) you, or anyone else with a keen interest in the profile, would add it to their Following list. Failing knowing exactly who is keeping an eye on such individuals, one would assume any contributor to the profile (someone who has added vitals details, sources, etc.) should be well worth trying to contact. As we know, getting a response from them is always another matter, especially if their last contribution was made several years back.

I just checked. Starting from a profile page, it took me 32.45 seconds to click "following," go to my Following List, click options to sort by People, enter the person's first name in the search box, and click on the three dot menu next to the person in the list to see who was following the person, click on that contributor name to see how I am related to that person, click on the profile name to return to the profile, and click "following" to stop following the person. So it really is pretty easy to see who is following someone.
Interestingly, the one person following the profile I picked, which I did because someone added a memory to it yesterday, is my mother who passed away five years ago. She won't be answering any inquires. Which brings up the question, "When a person's account is closed, should that person's Following list be erased?"

Gordon,
your response supported my comment that you can find out "who else besides yourself" is following an individual but the capability does not seem to exist to find out who is following a person (who is not on your following list)
