I typed the information on the 3 split documents, but the number at the top stays the same.

@Janice Renae Ferrin I cannot tell from this scant information what type of record you are asking about. Please provide a batch code. ie MSQ6-11L. Something like that so that we can see what you see.

Sounds like you have extra, unused entries. To delete the extra entries, click on the trash can icon on the toolbar, select "All blank entries" and click Delete. You will then have the entries you indexed and will be ready to submit the batch.
