Papua New Guinea—Civil Registration, 1892–1980 [Part C] [MQL5-2ZQ]
I came across a death record for a man who was married two times during his life. As there is only space for one spouse's name, do I record the first or the second spouse?
Also, in this particular batch, image 1 is the second of two pages, therefore it is skipped because it will be indexed with the batch that contains the first page. However, image 2 and image 3 are the pages that I will be indexing together with image 2 … but how do I mark image 3? I don't see anywhere in the instructions that explains this particular dilemma. I would assume as no extractable data, but I would like to know for sure.
Thank you to all who can assist!

Sorry, I did not answer your question. You would mark the #3 image as No, No Extractable Image.

When more than one spouse is given, we index the current or latest spouse.

@Cemetery Tramp That's a good question, as I have not run across a fellow with two marriages listed yet.
I tried to pull up the batch you listed, but my search did not yield anything. Perhaps you have already returned it or completed it yourself? I can answer one of your questions. The answer lies in General Indexing Questions at the bottom of Project Instructions after What To Remember About This Project. Under GIQ click on What to do when Records Span Two Images or to View Additional Images. This will give you more specific instructions. https://prod.familysearch.psdops.com/cmsa/idx/what-to-do-when-records-span-2-images-or-to-view-additional-images
I included the URL for those instructions. The What to Remember about This Project does refer to these General Guidelines for further informations. A lot of us haven't taken the time to do that.
It also says what to do when the Last Image, usually #3, starts another record, I must admit I haven't done Burial Records for Papua New Guinea Projects yet. I would guess it might be like Indexing Twins where a separate entry is made for the second twin, but I would wait until a Moderator or someone with more Indexing experience also weighs in. It's sometimes necessary to keep your Batch up because not every indexer/reviewer checks this Forum everyday. Good Luck.

Hello!
Thank you for your replies! I learned almost two decades ago when I first started indexing that you have to start with the instructions for each project, and to also read the field instructions. I am always surprised how many people here in the forum don't seem to understand that taking the time to read the project instructions will help you become a better indexer by following the rules - they are so vital to the projects, aren't they?
I have not finished this particular project, nor have I returned it; it is still sitting in my que as I intend to finish it. I'm not sure why you are unable to find it, but your replies are very helpful and I am grateful to you. Yes, I see your answer to mark it as no extractable data. Thank you very much for that! In my mind, that isn't true if the FS organization is keeping all of these digital records … I just don't want them to delete a page that they actually need to keep. That's why I'm confused lol!
I truly appreciate your assistance, and I wish you a wonderful day!

Hello!
Thank you very much for your reply. I thought that was the solution to the question, but I couldn't find anything about it in the instructions. Now I know for sure!

Hi, Well, I'm flummoxed. Each time I try to open this batch it says "This Batch is restricted. Open a different one." I'm not sure why it is restricted if you have it open in your que, does this batch's Project Instructions say 'It won't be open for Public Viewing when done' or something similar?

As of about 5:00P CT on Sunday, I went ahead and entered the current wife as his wife, I marked image 3 as no extractable data, I re-proofed my work and submitted it … so I can't look for you. However, if the instructions had said that I would have remembered as I always read the instructions.
I say we chalk that one up to an experience and move on. But that is strange that you couldn't view it. I have no explanation for that at all.
I would like to thank you once again for all of your help and suggestions. I hope we meet in this forum again down the road one day!
