I posted a photo and it was rejected, I realize it had a studio name on it. I should have realized but I thought since he has been dead since 2013 it would be okay. Can I simply trim the picture and name and rescan?

@Mary Gladys Pyron, reply to the notice you received that rejected the image and they will evaluate the issue and give you more detail.

As another user, I have no idea why the photo might have been rejected.

Just wanted to mention that the death of the creator of a copyrighted work does not void the copyright. It passes to his estate and/or heirs. Trimming off the studio name does not remove the fact that the photo is copyrighted. Neither does the fact that it is unlikely that his estate will enforce their copyright void their copyright.
