Recently lost ability to Ctrl-Click to Open Profile in New Tab
Until recently, Ctrl-Click on the name of a profile, in almost any context, would open that profile in a new tab. (Right-Click | "Open Link in New Tab" still works but is much less efficient).
Now Ctrl-Click does nothing. If you Left-Click you get a variety of responses (opens a pop-up, opens a side panel, etc.) depending on your context. Then you can often Ctrl-Click to open the profile in a new tab, but again, much less efficiently.
Please restore the Ctrl-Click functionality to directly open a profile in a new tab.

Still works for me. This sounds more like an issue with your computer than with FamilySearch.
You could try the standard trouble shooting ideas:
- Try again - there may have been a temporaryglitch.
- Have you turned your computer off since lasttrying? If not, then reboot.
- Try using a different browser.
- Check that your browser is up-to-date (e.g.for Chrome, click on the three vertical dots on the far right, click help, click About Google Chrome).
- Clear FamilySearch cookies - go to .https://www.familysearch.org/cookies
- Check your internet speed. One way to do this is to use https://www.speedtest.net/. Adownload speed of 5 Mbps and upload speed of 3 Mbps is regarded as the minimumInternet subscription rate for FamilySearch to operate properly. 10 Mbps and 5Mbps respectively is preferred.
- If all of the above do not work, try clearingall of your temporary files and cookies in your browser (for Chrome this is the3 dots again, Settings, Security & Privacy, Clear browsing data).

Thanks, @Graham Buckell for trying to help me track this down. This has been happening for the past several days. I've duplicated the problem on multiple computers, using multiple browsers and multiple FamilySearch logins. So, I'm fairly certain that it's not a local environment issue. I just now went through the standard troubleshooting steps, and still no luck getting this to work.
Just to be sure we're talking about the same thing, could you confirm that while on the details page of a profile, if you Ctrl-Click on any of the family members (parents, spouses, children), the family member profile will open directly in a new tab?
Thanks!

This has also been happening to me for several days now. It's on Windows 10, Chrome and Edge browsers fully updated. Hence my reaction to the original post which I found at the top of the discussion list when I was about to report the problem myself. Thanks for saving me the trouble, @ShawnFReid.
It's also occurring in other places. For example, I have some personalised hints available on my landing page, and I can click VIEW ALL to show the full list. From there, I could previously Ctrl+Click the person's name to open the profile in a new tab. Now, that does nothing; I have to either (a) plain Click the name then Ctrl+Click the PERSON button on the resulting pop-up, or (b) right-click and select "Open Link in New Tab".

Thank you, @JulianBrown38, for pointing out some additional places where this problem exists.
I've found a few places where Ctrl+Click still opens directly into a new tab. These are places where the person pop-up hasn't been implemented. It would appear that some work on that pop-up has inadvertently caused this bug. (I say "inadvertently" since it would be strange that they would remove standard browser navigation functionality for no reason).

There is another annoying factor that compounds the degradation wrought by the removal of the Ctrl+Click functionality. It happens in numerous places where it is now necessary to plain Click the profile name and then Ctrl+Click the PERSON button (if you're lucky) on the resulting pop-up to open the profile. Sometimes, the pop-up will appear far away from where you clicked, e.g. near the right-hand edge of the screen. Then, just as you move your mouse pointer toward the PERSON button, the pop-up will jump across the screen, back to near where you clicked. So you have to backtrack your mouse.
To add insult, this happens erratically, maybe one time in five.
The pop-ups have had this behaviour of moving after a delay for a long time, and it was always irritating. It may be that because I have to go through this rigmarole much more frequently, I notice it.

In addition, I think that the similar Shift+Click functionality has also vanished from some places. That is a pretty standard way to open a new tab in a new browser window. It may be less frequently used than Ctrl+Click.

With regard to my earlier comment about the jumping pop-up, I believe that I know what triggers the apparently random behaviour. When the pop-up is created, its initial width may not be enough to show the birth and/or death places. In that case, the code increases the size of the pop-up and, while it's there, it decides to move the pop-up close to the link that the user clicked. When the initial size of the pop-up is sufficiently large to display the minimal place text, the code neither resizes or moves the pop-up.
It would be preferable if the pop-up were always to be created close to where the user clicked in the first place, and then resized if necessary. This does happen in some places in FamilyTree.
