What do I do if I find the wrong kind of record in a batch?
I was indexing in the "US, California, Walnut Creek - Oak Hills Park Chapel Funeral Records, 1962-2018" and I came a record that I believe to be a military record instead of the Funeral Records. After looking at the information on the record, I believe the person is still living. What should I do?

If they are still living, post the batch number here. The batch number is located at the top of your indexing screen and looks like [MQLY-3ZJ]. There should not be any documents regarding a living principal, but some could've slipped through the cracks.
If the military paperwork says something like "application for burial," that means they are deceased. That is an application for the VA to pay (at least in part) for the burial. That document is indexed. The application also covers deceased spouses of veterans; since they are also eligible for VA burial benefits.1 -
The batch number is [MQLY-7CL]. The third photo is about the individual being released from military service. It does not have anything to do with their death or burial.

This should not be indexed. I'm going to tag @Ashlee C. so she can give it to the right folks. Good catch!

@Katelyn Elaine Merrill You are right that this military record should not be in your group of funeral records. We will take care of it. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
