The examples are gone.
At least from 2 different Naturalization projects. Now I am flying blind with Record place questions.

In doing New York Nats, you will have a Record Place for the DEC and will not have a record place for the PET. Generally, the Record Place for the DEC is found at the bottom of the document and will look something like Brooklyn, New York, United States of America or if it does not have that bottom place, it will be from the top place and will be New York, United States of America.

@Harmon, James Bartlett What projects specifically are missing examples? Is it just one example of a specific record type or all the examples?

The two projects that have a record place are New England and New York. In the New York project, the PET and the name change examples do not a have a record place listed. In previous New York projects, the PET had a record place. I seem to think that name change records also had a record place, but I'm not 100% sure.

They are back. Still no change. I think I know why they are doing that now (No place names for the Petitions). Too many complaints about that and doing the record place in 2 different forms for the same person.

Two different places are because people moved in between the DEC and the PET and they will state when and where the DEC was filed when the PET is filed. While not rare, they are not exactly numerous because applicants generally stayed when they emigrated to. New York had the harbors, Chicago had the stock yards, Pennsylvania had steel and coal and Central Illinois had coal. My county, Sangamon, and my city, Springfield was the leader in the amount of coal mines for decades.

if the PET has info in record place should it be changed to blank?

Yes, the record place in the New York PET's should be marked <BLANK>.
