For some reason, I can no longer attatch images on Community post. When I try to do so, it says I need permission to attach one. Is this an error? Or is no one allowed to upload any screenshots, or images on the Community anymore?

The option to add an image to a post or comment has been broken for many months - since April.

    There is a workaround:

We can only speculate as to why FamilySearch (or the "vendor") has been unable to reinstate the previous ability to paste images to this forum in such a simple manner. Okay, URLs can act as a direct way of getting to the FamilySearch pages that provide an illustration, but this issue has really hampered our ability to place an image here, which could have provided a direct, helpful illustration of the issue we were trying to help our fellow Community member address.

It would at least be good to be informed if there is, or not, any intention of reintroducing the former means of pasting screenshots here.

I wonder if something was posted that should not have been present (for whatever reason), and was not spotted by the image approval process, and it was concluded that the risk was too high.

Nothing so prosaic or simple. The uploading images issue is just one of many that occurred recently. Here is the Community Manager's post on the current issues that we are working with the vendor to fix. Keep an eye on this post (it is in the Community News section) to see the current status of all of these issues.

Yes, I did wonder if this might have been by design, rather than accident! I had often thought of the "risks" involved, especially if something did go wrong with the "computer moderator". For a period before the facility disappeared there had been almost instant display of my pasted images, instead of the several-minutes delay in their appearing, which we had become accustomed to. So, maybe items - shall we say, "outside the code of conduct" - did manage to slip through and cause panic.
