City directory, multiple people listed

US—City Directories, 1823–1935 [Part D][MQ2J-GNR]

I have a question about this batch, specifically the entry of Stanton, Adelaide M married Carl Christianson. Is this what is meant by the PI—"If multiple people were listed for a single entry, index information about each one using separate entries in the data entry area.”

Should Carl Christianson be entered on a separate entry, or should he be listed as spouse?

I would index Carl as the spouse, since it states they were married. If the listing was something like Stanton, Adelaide M, Carl Christianson, then it would be two different entries.

    A follow up question:

    US—City Directories, 1902–1935 [Part F][MQ2X-882]

    Entry #2--Roller Wm and Clara

Since this entry doesn’t list Roller Wm and Clara as married, then would this be indexed as two separate entries. I think it should be, but just want to be sure.

Since there's no definitive proof—Clara could be a daughter, niece, whatever—this would be two separate entries. If it was Roller, Wm (Clara) or Roller, Wm, 1234 Main Street, Clara, then Clara would be the spouse.
