My mom is living and has her own Family Search account and has made a lot of progress on her tree and her ex-spouse but I can't seem to add her as my mother on my tree, I have to create a new person for her and it doesn't include all her information. I go to search for her ID and it states person not found. How do I add her as my mom and link our two accounts so we can start looking for records together?

Yes I already create her profile once and it adds everything about all the deceased ancestors from her side of my family, but it doesn't include the information about her, or my half-siblings or anything else. How do I add her to my tree?

Profiles for living people are private to the account that entered them. You cannot see your mom's own profile for herself, just as she cannot see your own profile for yourself. You each need to create separate profiles for each other, and "join up" at your deceased relatives.

There is a new feature, still in a testing phase, that allows collaboration on living people, but using that will involve creating yet another profile for each of you. It's called Family Group Trees, and there is a Community group dedicated to discussion of it.

Hi Jared What you have done with your mother by creating a profile and connecting to the deceased is correct. Living people are unique to each account holder. Any living people you add to your account is unique to you and does not connect to the profile on another account. As you have pointed out, this has some drawbacks such as sharing with others. The reason for this all has to do with rights of privacy.

But all is not lost. There are some new features being developed to over come some of your concerns. One is Family Groups and another is Family Group Trees. These are in various stages of development but some of the functionality is available. Here are two links about these coming features.
